Autumn in Amsterdam

The INTELEC2011 Conference is approaching rapidly and is therefore eager to introduce you to its new technical program format this year: we have carefully selected over 120 high quality papers and every morning plenary sessions are scheduled and the mainstream of the papers presented that day are emphasized.

Seeing and feeling is believing
A free technical excursion to Rotterdam is offered to full registrants, in order to discover an energy efficient process of cooling systems, KyotoCooling® “The Kyoto wheel” and the Wagner Quick Respond Oxyreduct® an unique fire prevention system achieving the highest level of fire safety in combination with maximum availability.

This excursion can be chosen as Tuesday afternoon excursion program which is included in the registration fee for full conference

participants. If you’ve already selected a tour for the Tuesday afternoon, please contact the conference secretariat via intelec2011-reg@mci-group.com and include your confirmation number and the tour you like to change.

Amsterdam Experience , Monday 10 October
Visit the beautiful museum The Hermitage, take a informative walk through the historical 17th century centre of Amsterdam and have lunch at the magnificent historic building ‘The Waag’.  Then sit back to enjoy a canal cruise discovering Amsterdam’s highlights.

Volendam & Marken, Tuesday 11 October
A trip to the picturesque fishermen’s villages Marken and Volendam, where typical wooden houses, folkloric costumes and catching fish are still an everyday scenery. After that, a visit to a Dutch cheese farm is paid, where you learn all about the manufacturing process and you make your own cheese!

Van Gogh & The Heineken Experience, Tuesday 11 October
Take a tour through the museum containing the largest collection of paintings by the most famous Dutch artist of all times. Watch and learn about the life and work of this extraordinary painter. Then finish you afternoon at The Heineken brewery where you will discover all secrets of this famous Dutch lager and enjoy a freshly tapped beer.

Conference Banquet
To top off your stay in Amsterdam, a refined and entertaining banquet has been arranged for you on Wednesday evening. You are departing from the Passengers Terminal Amsterdam and cruise your way to the recently restored Maritime Museum. A shanty choir is there to welcome you and you can either take a tour through the museum or enjoy a drink at the museum bar.
An exquisite dinner is followed shortly after in the glass roof dome of the museum with the adornment of Dutch Theatre Dance and a jazz combo. (more...)
